Our Mission

The knowledge was never missing. The infrastructure was.

We collaborate with Indigenous medicine communities to build it, and we build it so it stays in their hands. Water, food, shelter, energy, and education, community-owned from day one.

The first Sovereignty Blueprint is being built with the Kofán of El Diviso, in the Colombian Amazon. It is designed to travel.

Our Model

Two funds. One promise.

Project Fund

Every public donation to a project goes to the field. Water systems, bamboo infrastructure, food sovereignty, renewable power, and education. 100% of it, with nothing taken for overhead.

Stewardship Fund

The team, the travel, the accounting, and the systems that keep the work standing. Funded separately by visionary partners who choose to build the organization itself.

Money moves in one direction only. Stewardship can support Projects. Projects never fund operations.

The Wisdom

Some knowledge exists nowhere else on Earth.

Indigenous medicine communities have kept their territories alive for thousands of years. They are the original TerraKeepers, and they carry unbroken lineages of knowledge: plants, healing, language, and ways of living with the forest.

TerraKeepers was born inside that wisdom, in relationship with the elders who carry it, and it shaped everything we build. Sovereignty is how the knowledge survives: when a community owns its water, its food, its income, and its future, the keepers of the wisdom can stay, practice, and teach their children. Every system we build protects a lineage.

Our Story

Their prophecies speak of a time when this medicine would be needed. That time is now.

It started with an invitation. Jose was received by Kofán elders in a village along the Colombia and Ecuador border. What he found there was a people carrying a body of knowledge older than any institution, holding a forest intact while the world around it was being cut, burned, and bought.

The first thing the community named was water, so the first thing we built was water. It taught us the rule we have kept since: the community says what is needed, and we show up with the tools and the funding to make it real.

We walk alongside medicine carriers so they can continue their path: protecting their territories, preserving their wisdom, and passing it to the next generation. Modern tools, clean energy and Bitcoin among them, belong in service to those traditions. This is reciprocity. These are the living libraries of the Earth, and they protect all of us.

Founder

Jose Reynoso is the founder and Executive Director of TerraKeepers, a US 501(c)(3) that collaborates with Indigenous medicine communities to build community-owned systems for water, food, shelter, energy and education. He came to this work through the medicine and years of sitting with Indigenous elders.
